Finally Sleeping

After 5 days of not sleeping during the day or night, I called our cardiac nurse. She assured me that it wasn't heart related, but strange nonetheless. She was calling Dr. Erez anyways, so she offered to ask his advice, since he is a father of four! She then told me how her own daughter had a cough and she had tried the onions and it seemed to work. We have started a trend.

On Shabbat, I finally managed to get her to nap in her stroller, so I figured it was worth a try at night time. Ridiculous heart warrior-princess! She slept for 4 1/2 hours, woke up to nurse, then slept another 3 hours. So, guess who is sleeping only in her stroller... As long as we are all getting sleep, I couldn't care less.

  1. She may need to sleep sitting up (rather than lying down). My son had many lung problems as an infant and he had to sleep sitting up in a swing. This may be why your stroller "worked." My son literally couldn't breathe if he was laying down. . .

    1. Thank you so much for commenting. We actually have her crib propped up fairly high, as she used to suffer from Reflux. She never really was in a lying down position.

Still, thanks for the comment. It's nice to hear all the thoughtful suggestions.

    2. Shoshana, even with the crib propped up fairly high my son could not breathe well. He had pneumonia at his brit milah, poor thing, and had one lung infection after another until he was 2 years old. Sleeping sitting up was just much easier for him (and for me!). I so love reading your updates. The love you have for your family and for HaShem lifts off the screen and into my heart. Kol tuv.

  2. My daughter tried putting her excessively fussy baby in the stroller one night and got the first good night sleep she had in weeks. The upright position helps them breath better and get more oxygen to their lungs.
